Samsung has started work on the 250MP image sensor. The first 150MP sensor is expected to be launched later this year along with Xiaomi's flagship handheld while the 250MP sensor may arrive in late 2021.
Even though no rpecific specs for the 250MP ISOCELL sensor have been leaked, it may have previously been 1/1inch mobile chip or larger. So it may not fit inside the slimmer smartphone model. The 108S sensor is currently 1/1.33 inches is size integrated with the Samsung Galaxy S21 series.
Recently Samsung has introduced its plans to overcome the sharpness of the human eye with the upcoming 600MP image sensor which might not even fit in future smartphones. There is no exact time frame for the 600MP sensor, we may see these advanced chip sooner than we think Hopefully, such a large sensor will not rely too much on pixel binding. Otherwise the resolution of 600MP will not exceed the parameters of human eyes at all. Meanwhile, reports from China suggest that Samsung has stopped developing the 150MP sensor.

Xiaomi's flagship is expected to see a 150MP sensor later this year, and the Samsung device may come with the Galaxy S21 model in 2021.
