Samsung remove the S voice feature on 1 June 2020

The Samsung Galaxy S III was the first smartphone to ship with S voice out of the box and was marketed to help voice assistants perform daily tasks with just simple voice commands. Now a new report by Samsung mobile has claimed that the days of S voice are being numbered as the Korean giant has decided to discontinue the service from 1 June 2020.

The only products that widely use the S voice are the Samsung Gear S3 and the Samsung Gear sport. But according to the report, these smartphones are expected to get updates for Bixby soon.

These are the devices that won't get the Bixby update - Samsung Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9, Samsung Galaxy Note FE, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, 3, 4, 5, Samsung Galaxy S3, 4, S5, S6, S6 Edge, Samsung Galaxy Note pro 12.2, Samsung Galaxy w, Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, Samsung Galaxy Tab 48.0/10.1, Samsung Galaxy Note S8.4 and S10.5.

The S can follow simple commands such as setting a voice alarm and making a call, but it cannot perform any interaction like Google Assistant.

And while Samsung’s voice was not appreciable, it laid the foundation for Samsung’s Bixby voice Assistant. Although Bixby may not be as useful as Alexa and Assistant.
